Follow This Best Winter Skincare Routine For A Healthy Glow

While Summers are not the best time for the skin, Winters are not the best too! In summers, excess sweat can clog your pores; in the latter, you can experience excessive skin dryness, which leads to dehydration in the skin – that does not sound good. Excess dryness could lead to eczema if your skin is super sensitive. We understand that you must be dreading the season, but don’t worry because we have a perfect skincare routine for that dry skin & you – the Ayurvedic way!

Moisturise, Moisturise, & Moisturise

We cannot emphasise this enough. If you are fond of room heaters, you put your skin in too much trouble. Heaters take away the moisture from the skin, making it itchy and dehydrated. While amping your water intake could be helpful, you can also ensure that you moisturise at least twice a day – preferably with a moisturizing lotion that does not contain any artificial fragrance.

Move Over Hot Showers

Well, yes! Although it is difficult, we recommend bathing in lukewarm water. Not only is hot water bad for the skin but hair too. Excess use of hot water can lead to dry skin. If it is unavoidable, nourish your body using mosturizing cream. Massage it thoroughly all over your body – it will make your skin soft & supple but will also add calmness to your mind.

Choosing Cleansers Wisely

Cleansing your skin twice every day is a form of therapy. But, what creates an issue is the usage of products that are not meant for your skin type. For example, people with Vata Skin should use skincare products for dry skin that are rich in honey or rose water. If your skin is sensitive (Pitta skin), use more cooling ingredients such as Aloe Vera. For people with oily skin (Kapha skin), Neem, Aloe Vera, or Turmeric work best as this skin needs detoxification.

Also, never forget that sunscreen is all skin types’ best friend, so never skip it!

Care For Your Lips & Feet Too!

During the winter, we mostly forget to care about our lips & feet. Our lips start to chap, and our heels can begin to crack – we don’t want that, right? Make sure to use a lip balm – look for one nourished with coconut or almond oil, as these ingredients will help seal the moisture. Try Kausmi’s Ayurvedic luxurious buttery moisturizing lotion enriched with aloe vera, almond oil, and Yashtimadhu for the best results. For your feet, you could gently scrub them twice a week and ensure to moisturise them daily.
