Start your day right: Ayurvedic Morning Routine

Nobody likes their day dull and lazy. Everyone wishes for an energetic start. To make this come true, not only it is important to have a schedule but even important to stick to it. Having a daily routine will help you stick to your goals, will improve your mental wellbeing, and generates discipline and peace.
Very simple changes to your daily routine can do big changes in your life. 

Let’s begin:

Rise early:

Are you an early riser? If yes, brownie points to you. If not, then do not worry – start with small steps. Ayurveda texts recommend waking up before or with as the sun rises. The best time to wake up is usually between 5-7 am. If you are someone who has never woken up this early, you can try waking up 10-20 minutes early than usual and we are sure, you’ll get there! Ayurvedic experts recommend Vata people to start at 6 am, Pitta at 5:30 am, and Kapha by 4:30 am.

Meditate:

Meditating prepares your mind for the long day ahead and morning is the best time to practice that. You can look for videos online on how to meditate – or else, just lay still with your eyes closed. That’s meditation too! Don’t let your mind get distracted.

Cleanse out:

While you were asleep, your body has been busy eliminating the toxins. So, after you meditate, you must release those toxins. Splash cold water on your face, eyes, and rinse your mouth. Urinate and evacuate your bowels. Ayurveda also recommends scraping your tongue. Stainless steel (or a copper) scrapper can be used by everyone. Scrapping helps with digestion and removes any dead bacteria.
Lastly, clean your teeth. Using a soft toothbrush or a neem stick does wonder. 

Drink warm water:

Before you jump onto your morning tea or coffee – make sure to give your body an adequate amount of hydration. It regulates your digestive system and gives you a healthy start to the day. 

Practice Abhyanga:

Abhyanga means massaging your body with oil. Just before stepping into the shower, warm some oil and massage all parts of your body. You don’t have to spare a lot of time – even a minute or two is good. Massaging calms your mind and gives you smooth, soft skin.Ayurvedic experts recommend Vata people use almond oil, Pitta use coconut oil, and Kapha use corn oil. 

Never skip breakfast:

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day – it fuels your body for the challenging day ahead. Have some fruits and complete the meal with some cereal/protein for a healthy start.
